Bend, OR. - The Bend Elks claimed its first series win of the 2023 season with a 7-3 victory over the Port Angeles Lefties in the rubber match.

Following a 7-1 gut-punching loss the night before, the Elks turned things around in the series finale with nine hits offensively while holding the Lefties to just three. Despite trailing 3-0 to start the game, Steven Meier quickly made up the deficit with a two-RBI triple to give Bend a 5-3 advantage. The Elks would score five runs total in the second inning and never looked back from there.

Tyler Peterson and Ryan Christiansen each continued their tears at the plate, with Peterson recording his second two-hit game, including a one-run single to score Elijah Jackson. Christiansen followed that up with his second round-tripper of the season on a 396-foot rocket to right field.

Peterson, Christian, and Meier finished the Elks' six-game homestand as the team leaders in batting average, with Peterson being the leader at .421.

Bend heads north this weekend for its first road trip of the summer in a series against the Yakima Valley Pippins. Game one starts at 6:35 p.m. and will be broadcasted on Bend Elks Mixlr. The Elks will return home Tuesday, June 11, to take on the Northwest Star Nighthawks.
