Bend, OR - History repeated itself Thursday night at Vince Genna Stadium as Bend fell 7-1 once again to Corvallis, who completed the sweep of the Elks on their home field.

The game had a similar starting tale to the night before, with promising pitching performances from both sides. Over the first four frames, the Elks southpaw Luke Hines limited the Knights to one run while Colter McAnelly had a no-hitter in progress

But things took a turn for Hines (0-1) in the fifth when the Knights put up a four spot produced by Ty Yukomoto's two-run base hit and Kevin Takeuchi's two-RBI double.

Vinny Salvione ended McAnelly’s (1-0) no-hitter in the home half of the inning, marking one of two hits for the Elks on the evening, with the other coming from Cole Hubka in the seventh. Bend (2-4, 2-4) also scored its lone run in the seventh on a Brett Ott sacrifice fly.

Corvallis (5-0, 5-0) put the stamp of approval on its perfect start with two more runs in the ninth. Takeuchi racked up five hits and six RBI in the series, while CJ Colyer and Tyler Howard each posted a team-high six hits over the three-game set.

The Elks will hit the road for the first time this summer on Friday against the Springfield Drifters. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. at Hamlin Sports Complex. You can watch all the action on the Drifters livestream or listen to on Bend Elks Mixlr with “Voice of the Elks” Blake Niemann on the call.
