Ridgefield extinguishes Elks bats to end win streak
Bend, OR - Bend’s blistering bats came to a halt Sunday, going scoreless in seven of the final eight innings of the series finale against Ridgefield, causing the Elks to miss out on the sweep and see an end to their three-game winning streak.
Bend jumped out to an early 2-0 advantage on back-to-back two-out doubles by Brian Duroff and Ty Silva but struggled to stretch the lead beyond that point.
The Elks only mustered six hits on the evening, half of which were by Duroff.
Meanwhile, the Raptors had their ruckus encapsulated in two huge hacks by Hunter Katschke and Jack Salmon.
The five and six hole hitters for Ridgfield each scorched solo shots with Katschke give the Raptors their first run while Salmon provided the last on the go ahead blast.
The season set now turns to Southwest Washington where Bend will seek its third straight road series victory. First pitch is set for Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex. You can tune in to all the action on the Raptors live stream or listen to the “Voice of the Elks” Blake Niemann on the Elks Radio Network.
