Elks almost repeat history in Game 2 loss to Raptors

Ridgefield, WA - History seemed to repeat itself Wednesday night in Ridgefield.

For the second straight night, Bend went scoreless through the first seven innings.

Then Dejavu continued into the eighth when Elks loaded the bases with no outs in the eighth.

Instead of igniting a 10 run one-inning explosion like the night before, Bend only brought in two this time, falling just short to Ridgefield 3-2.

The Raptors, who, like the Elks, went scoreless through the first seven Tuesdays, got on the board in half the time less than 24 hours later.

Elks pitcher Finn Edwards came out of the bullpen and committed a throwing error that placed two Raptors in scoring position, giving way to a Patrick Engakov RBI groundout.

Edwards later threw a wild pitch that allowed Dasan Harris to score and surrendered the first hit for Ridgefield on a Taylor Takata RBI knock.

Bend and Ridgefield have both gone scoreless in 21 of the last 23 innings.

The clubs will clash in the rubber match on Thursday in hopes of breaking the pitcher's duel. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex.
