Ridgefield, WA - Bend was shutout for the second time this season Thursday, losing the rubber game to Ridgefield 5-0 to split the season series with the Raptors.

The Elks, who went scoreless through the first seven innings of both of the first two games, couldn’t muster their eighth-inning energy again, being blanked just like the rest.

Bend had its chances but couldn’t capitalize, going 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

The Raptors strung together scores in four straight innings to separate the winning distance from the Elks.

Luke Iverson and Ryder Cutlip helped bring home two runs for Ridgefield in the third on RBI singles while tacking on singular tallies in the following three frames on a Dasan Harris one-run double, Isaiah Chacon RBI walk, and Alejandro Cazorla fielding error that enabled the fifth and final run to score.

The pitching was on a positive note for Bend as Elks hurlers struck out a season-high 13 batters led by starter Tyler Wood, who set the tone with eight K’s.

Bend ultimately went scoreless in 25 out of 27 innings played in the sluggish series.

Easton Amundson led the Elks with five hits in the series, including two doubles.

Bend will look to bounce back with a non-league series against Northwest Star Nighthawks this weekend at Vince Genna Stadium. The series will be full of festivities, including fireworks night on Sunday! Make sure to get your tickets now!
