Bend, OR. - The Bend Elks stomped the Port Angeles Lefties 17-5 in the series-opening game Monday to earn its first win of 2023 and snap a three-game losing skid.

After dropping the series finale against the Wenatchee AppleSox 12-1, the Elks completely flipped the script scoring 17 runs on 17 hits. It was a complete effort offensively, with 11 different Elks recording a hit, the most prominent being outfielder Ryan Christiansen who went 3-6 with 5 RBI falling just a double short of the cycle. Christiansen hit the Elks' first homer of the summer on a three-run blast to right as part of a seven-run second inning.

Other standout performers for Bend included Steven Meier, who went 2-4 with a triple and three RBI, and Tyler Peterson, who had three hits and scored three runs.

On the mound, the Elks were equally successful, turning around a ten-walk ten-earned runs showing from the night prior into a four walk four earned gem led by Brayden Wells, who pitched six innings, striking out four batters while allowing six hits and one earned run.

Bend (1-3) and Port Angeles (0-4) meet again Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. for the second of a three-game set at Vince Genna Stadium.
